Immigration of Lebanese Requested.
—Lebanese in New Zealand want permission for their relatives in Lebanon to come here as immigrants. There are about 2000 Lebanese in the Dominion. Immigration is restricted. The Lebanese Society of New Zealand, at a meeting in Auckland this week, decided to ask the Lebanese Consul in Wellington (Mr J. Marsh) to make the necessary approach to the Government and also to request impor* licences for bringing national foods—olives, oils, cereals, and dried fruits.— (P.A.)
