stormy Voyage FROM CHATHAMS
SEAMAN INJURED ON PORT WAIKATO
The motor-ship Port Waikato arrived at Lyttelton yesterday afternoon after a stormy trip from the Chat- , ham Islands. The vessel left the islands at 7.30 p.m. on Monday, and had rough weather and heavy seas all the way. On Wednesday afternoon, a heavy sea which broke aboard carried a seaman, Douglas George Doyle, of Sefton, off his feet and threw him against a ladder. Mr Doyle suffered a fractured hip, and was given surgical aid by Sister K. Thomas, matron of the Chatham Islands Hospital, who was aboard the ship. On the arrival of the ship at Lyttelton. Mr, Doyle was attended by Dr. T. HurreM. and taken to the Christchurch Public Hospital by ambulance.
