MISS A. BUCKLEY HONOURED
PARTY AT “MARYKNOLL” The opening gathering of the Catholic Women’s. League at “Maryknoll,” after the Christmas vacation, was held to' honour Miss A. Buckley on the award of the M.B.E. Monsignor J. Kennedy, congratulating Miss Buckley, said her reward, so richly deserved, brought honour not only to herself, but to the nursing profession, to the Catholic women of Neft Zealand, and in particular to Christchurch. Father E. Joyce, speaking as chaplain" of the league, said that during his time in the forces, Miss Buckley’s name was always mentioned with gratitude and reverence. An enjoyable musical programme was arranged by Mrs H. Grant. She herself played two pianoforte pieces, and Miss D. Charters (recently returned from studying in Australia) sang three songs. She was accompanied by Mrs Merle Carter.
