• ITINERARY IN N.Z. (P.A.) WELLINGTON. February 24. The itinerary of the English women’s cricket team in New Zealand will be as follows: v. Nelson, at Nelson, March 2; v. West Coast, at Greymouth, March 5; v. Canterbury, at Christchurch, March 8 and 9; v. Otago, at Dunedin. March 12 and 14; v. Wellington, at Wellington, March 18 and 19; v. Auckland, at Auckland, March 22 and 23; v. New Zealand, at Auckland, March 26, 28, and 29. As the team’s departure from New Zealand will be later than was at first expected, there will be an additional match, against Matamata, at Matamata, after the test. VETERANS BEAT TRAINING COLLEGE Veterans beat Training College B by two runs. Veterans made 136 (J. Hamilton 30, P. Smith 28, both retired V. Ensor 29, W. Randall 16, C. Goodwin 15, S. Watson 10; R. Bean, two for 13; L. Thompson, two for 16; W. Burnell, two for 24). Training College B made 134 (R. Bean 25, B. McGrath 22, W. Fletcher 21. all retired, L. Thompson 17, W. Burnell 15; J. Hamilton, four for 34; D. Yorke, two for 29). GOUGH, GOUGH AND HAMER WINS Gough, Gough, and Hamer beat the Social Security Department by 34 runs. Gough, Gough, and Hamer made 227 (Foster 105, Pitt 29, Hart 17, Sharr 16; J. McGlinchy, three for 38; O’Reilly, two for 57). Social Security replied with 193 (O’Reilly 62, Brooks 39, Fox 31, Randall 17, McKay 11; Foster, three for 56; Hart, two for 21;.Wilson, three for 43). WIN FOR BOOTH, MACDONALD TEAM A Booth, Macdonald team beat Penfolds by 43 runs on the first innings. Penfolds made 199 (Blythe 112 retired. Sincock 26; Brown, three wickets for 11 runs). Booth, Macdonald made 242 (Wilson 104, Mugford 30; Blythe, five wickets for 42 runs).
