WITHIN TEN RUNS OF WIN AT STUMPS

CAPE TOWN, February 22. The M.C.C. failed by 10 runs to force a win against Natal after a thrilling race against the clock. The result was a draw. The M.C.C. had to get 270 runs in 120 minutes for a win when Nourse declared at six for 257 in Natal’s second innings. Compton and Tremlett added 19a for the third wicket. Television for Australia.—-“ Tenders for the establishment of television in Australia will be considered by the new Broadcasting Control Board next month, and recommendations will be made to the Cabinet,” said the Australian Postmaster-General 'Senator D. Cameron). “The objective of the Government will be to make the Australian system as up to date as any other in the world. We think we shall get much assistance from overseas because of Australia’s new importance in defence, and for training purposes.
