MAGISTRATE’S COURT Harold Southern, a member of the crew of an overseas ship, pleaded guilty in the Lyttelton Magistrate’s Court, before Mr Rex. C. Abernethy, S.M., to a charge of having liquor in a dance hall. He was convicted and fined £ 1 and ordered to pay costs. Albert Clinton Norris and Leonard Logan Weame, trading as the West End Garage, pleaded guilty to a charge that they sold 88 gallons of petrol without authority. Mr R. Edgley, who appeared for the defence, said that the offence was not deliberate but was the result of warit of proper supervision of the sales from the pumps. Each defendant was fined £3. For selling milk deficient in butter-fat, Noel Ipsen, a milk retailer, was fined £3. Funds for New Ambulance The offer of a Lyttelton businessman to give £25 towards a hew ambulance for Lyttelton, on condition that three other citizens gave like amounts this week, has resulted in another citizen offering to give £25. w est"'"coastFa dvertisement WESTPORT Rail-car Passengers.
