CONTROL OF TROTTING
Sir, —It is not your correspondents who are making wild statements but S, G. Fitchett. He accuses the general public of being dumb, one-eyed, and stupid. He is the one to make the silly suggestion of wagering £5 that five non-triers cannot be picked. Who is to judge? Does he claim there were not five non-triers at Brighton? Rubbish! If Mr Fitchett wants information about non-triers, team-driving, and other practices indulged in, please let him have my name and address and as a former horse-owner I will give him facts, not wild outbursts. I have been through it and can prove my statements. Can Mr Fitchett prove his?—Yours, etc.,
THE SAME TO YOU. February 23, 1949.
Sir, —Why not stop this three and four times round before a race, and give the public a fair go? Bluff appears all right to some—even the angel jockey’s evidence before the commission; but not to all of us.—Yours, etc., GENUINE. February 23, 1949.
