AERIAL SOWING OF SEED
COMMERCIAL AIRCRAFT FITTED OUT
A Tiger Moth aircraft of Airwork (N.Z.). Ltd., has been fitted out for commercial seeding and manuring work. The modifications to the design have been approved by the Air DeThe .aircraft can carry 3501 b of seed or manure and has a crew of one. It can drop about 15001 b of seed in an hour. Phosphorised pollard for r-bbit poisoning can also be dropped, and the company is planning to carry ,out aerial spraying of fruit trees and ’crops.
Costs will vary, but estimates are that the cost will be £6 an hour while seeding is being carried out. and £3 10s an hour while the aircraft is travelling to and from farms.
