To Be Tried Again Copper Coin, whose racing career was interrupted when she fractured a sesamoid bone last season, is being worked A tea^ ,y at Biccarton by E. Rosewarne. An X-ray examination revealed that the bone had knitted satisfactorily, and the nve-year-old Leighon mare has shown no signs of tenderness in the region of the injury. Copper Coin was a smart three-year-°ld, winning five of her 12 races at that age and being placed in two other races. Her stake earnings for that season were £1250. Last season She had six races and, at the Grand National meeting in 1947, she won the Redchffs Hack Handicap with the top weight of 30-2. Laindon’s Progress Laindon, the only Riccarton candidate for the hurdle races at Wingatui, was schooled at Riccarton yesterday. The Leighon gelding did not go into his fences particularly fast, but he jumped smoothly. He finished third to Glad Fox and Kiloney in the Port Cooper Hurdles on the third day of the New Zealand Cup meeting last November and was third to Bridgehead and Sailor Boy in the Temuka Hurdles at the Geraldine meeting in December. Laindon has come on lately and may pay his way among the jumpers. Night Prince in Work Night Prince, which has not raced since the Dunedin winter meeting last June, has been brought back into work at Riccarton and he may be taken to the Riverton Easter meeting with the Great Western Steeplechase as his mission. The Nightmarch gelding lacks nothing on the score of condition and is in splendid order for another preparation. Night Prince won the main steeplechase event on the second day of the Riverton meeting last year, and on the third day he was third to Double Light and Eleanor Star in the Autumn Steeplechase. He was unplaced in his three other starts for the season. Egmont Meeting

Moonlit is not an acceptor for the Waipapa Hack Handicap at the Egmont meeting on Saturday, although her name was included in the acceptances published yesterday. Because of an error in transmission her name was forwarded instead of that of Brookland, whose weight is 8-8. Moonlit is trained at Riccarton by G. S. Barr.
