WOMEN’S TEST MATCH AT SYDNEY
(Rec. 11 p.m.) SYDNEY, February 21. In the third women’s cricket test Australia has put England in a position of fighting for a draw. Australia gained a first innings lead of 100 and may force an outright win to-mor-row, when the match ends. The Australian women appear certain to win the test series. Scores:—England, first innings, 172; second innings, 16 for no wickets. Australia, first innings, 272 (Hudson 55, Paisley 45, Laughton 47, Wilson 28; MacLagan four for 67, Duggan two for 20). Earthquakes in Algeria.— One person is reported to have been killed and 16 injured in a series of earthquakes in the Azazaga-Enkerrata region of Algeria. Altogether 24 tremors have been reported in the last 24 hours.— Algiers, February 20.
