N.Z. INSTITUTION OF ENGINEERS
ELECTION OF OFFICERS (P.A.) AUCKLAND, February 21. The fact that the membership of the New Zealand Institution of Engineers now exceeded 1000 indicated its sound position, said the president (Mr A. J. Dickson) at the annual meeting in Auckland. The institution was continuing to place very strong emphasis on the need for a good engineering education and training.
Officers were appointed as follows: president. Mr H. C. Lusty (Wellington); vice-presidents. Messrs S. G. Scoular (Dunedin) and F. Langbein (Wellington); ordinary members of council, Messrs H. R. Back (Lower Hutt), K. H. Black. E. H. R. Green, F. M. H. Hanson, R. S. Maunder, C. W. O. Turner, and G. S. J. Read (Wellington). J. B. Rowntree (Auckland), R. A. Campbell and J. C. Forsyth (Christchurch): council secretary. Mr F. W. Furkert.
