AFRICANS ATTACK INDIAN BUS
(Rec. 10 p.m.) DURBAN, February 19. Three hundred Africans attacked and set fire to an Indian bus at Umgeni, in Durban, after an accident in which an African woman was fatally injured outside a native compound. The woman fell under a rear wheel of the bus as it moved off. The driver stopped immediately. Africans poured from the compound and began stoning the bus, and another which followed it. One of the Indian occupants called for the police A riot squad soon restored order. Some of the natives were arrested, and three Indians were taken to hospital.
