CANTERBURY CLUB’S TESTS CHAMPIONSHIPS WON BY P. LUPP Acceleration tests were held by the Canterbury Car Club at Aylesbury during the week-end. The kilometre race was run as the South Island championship, and the quarter-mile as the club championship. Several of the competing cars will take place in the 100 miles New Zealand championship road race at Wigram. The outstanding performances of the day were those of P. Lupp (Dunedin), who gained fastest time in both events, and won the championship, and of R. Shand (Christchurch) in the 1101-1500 c.c. class in both events. The stock class included all cars in full road trim with normal equipment. The open class included cars that had been stripped and/or fitted with special equipment.
