Manchester United and Hull, who meet in the sixth round of the Football Association Cup on February 26. each lost its first since October 16. 1946. Other strongly fancied cup teams to lose were Portsmouth. Derby, and. Wolverhampton. Leicester won the right to play in the sixth round of the cup by beating Luton in a replay.
