OBITUARY
MR G. G. BURNES Mr George Gordon Burnes, who died in Christchurch recently, aged 83. was the son of Mr Adam Burnes, who opened the old Colonial Bank in New Zealand. After retiring from the management of the A.M.P. Society in Christchurch, Mr Burnes spent about 20 years travelling in Europe, America, Asia, and North Africa, spending most of his time in London. He was a warden for Kensington for two years during the last war although his age was more than 70 years. He played cricket, football, and golf well.
