TOWN PLANNING OFFICER
MISS N. NORTHCROFT APPOINTED
The appointment as town planning officer for Christchurch of Miss Nancy Northcroft, B.Arch. (N.Z.), A.R.1.8.A., A.N.Z.1.A., A.M.T.P.1., was made last evening by the City Council. Miss Northcroft is the daughter of Mr Justice Northcroft. She was employed in the city engineer’s department for a year in 1940-41, and has also had experience in the offices of private architects and the Canterbury
Education Board. As the holder of a~ British Council Dominion research scnolarship, she studied housing in relation to planning in England and Scotland during 1943, and was a member of the staff of the Association for Planning and Regional Reconstruction, London, for three years, from 1944 to 1946. After returning to New Zealand, Miss Northcroft was for a time employed as assistant regional planning officer in Wellington. Seven applications for the position were received by the council.
