Wellington, and dealing with the 29 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Situation: there is an anti-cyclone to the nerth of New Zealand. A vigorous depression is forming over the western Tasman. Forecast to 5 p.m.: moderate variable winds. Weather fair and warm. Further outlook: similar conditions. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the couth Island is:— Moderate variable winds. Weather cloudy. Rain developing from the south. Temperatures mild. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather yesterday was warm and overcast with a light north-west wind. The maximum temperature was 74 degrees. At midnight the sky was overcast and there was a light south-west wind. The temperature was 56.7 degrees. The barometer, rising unsteadily, registered 29.909 inches (1012.8 millibars).
