U.S. TROOPS IN KOREA
EARLY DEPARTURE UNLIKELY
(Rec. 7 p.m.) SEOUL, November 23. “High American officials said to-day that the United States soldiers would remain in South Korea as long as the new Korean Republic needed their help,” says the United Press. “Officially, it was stated that the troops would be withdrawn as early as possible, but unofficially the Korean leaders were assured that the occupation would not end in the near future. “Russia has already begun withdrawing her forces from North Korea.*’
