Mr Alan Johns (Fendalton), accompanied by his wife and two children, will return to New Zealand by the Rimutaka on November 20 after an absence of four years. Mr Johns graduated M.Sc. at Canterbury University College before going overseas on active service. Since the end of the war he has been, studying at Cambridge University. His mother and sister, Mrs A. C. Johns and Miss Lilian will go to Wellington to meet him and he and his family will visit his wife’s parents in Palmerston North before returning to Christchurch.

Miss Ruth Evans, infant mistress on the staff of the Kaikoura District High School, who has been selected to exchange with Miss Joan Birkenhead, of the Middlesex Education Authority. will leave in the Ruahine towards the end of this month to take up a position for one year at the Galliard Infants’ School.
