MINOR FIRES

The Christchurch Fire Brigade was c s lle i? to four fires yesterday. None of the fires was serious, the largest being a fire which broke out at 6 p.m. in a house occupied by Mr Charles James Bax, at 5 England street. Some damage was done to the walls. At 1.28 p.m. the brigade was called to a rubbish fire at 117 Sullivan avenue, on premises occupied bv Mr Arthur John McClintock. Another rubbish fire broke out in a disused wood yard at 346 Wilson’s road at 3.3 p.m. There was no damage in these cases. A hedge caught fire at 3.22 n.m. at 604 Ferrv road, on nremises occupied by Mr Charles Stafford, but was put out before damage was done.
