IMMIGRANTS ARRIVE

v PARTY OF NINE FOR CHRISTCHURCH Twenty-eight Government-assisted immigrants, nine of them for Christchurch. arrived at Lyttelton yesterday morning, and the Christchurch members of the party were taken to the immigrants’ quarters at Wigram. All nine have been found homes through the service operated by the National Council of Women. Later in the morning the new arrivals were taken to meet their employers. A small group of immigrants is expected in Christchurch at the end of November and a larger party will arrive in January.
