MAN KILLED

BODY FOUND UNDER TRACTOR (P.A.) INVERCARGILL, Oct. 28. A man was found dead, pinned under a tractor, at Kapuka to-day. He was James Henderson Fulton, married, aged 44, of Asher’s Siding. BUS DRIVER INJURED DOOR STRUCK BY OVERTAKING BUS While he was entering the driver’s door of the tramway ous he was driving yesterday, Cyril Arthur Smith, of 40 Mersey street, Christchurch, was jammed in the door when an overtaking..tram way bus. struck it. He was admitted to 1 the Christchurch Public Hospital at 2.50 p.m., suffering from a fracture to his left leg and arm injuries. Mr Smith was mounting the step of the bus, which was stopped near the corner of Manchester and Tuam streets, after he had lifted a pram on to the front. The driver’s door was open and was flung shut by the overtakinng bus as Mr Smith was moving into his driver’s seat.

Mr Smith was driving a St. Martin’s bus. and the overtaking bus was on the Beckenham route. The service was held up for about 10 minutes while another driver was sent from the depot. The bus which Mr Smith was driving was not damaged. His condition last, evening was reported to be satisfactory.
