PLANE SEEN AT KAWHIA

MAY HAVE CRASHED IN SEA (P.A.) WELLINGTON, October 27. The Acting-Prime Minister (Mr Nash) informed the House of Representatives this evening that it was reported that* the postmaster at Kawhia (30 miles south-west of Hamilton and on the cobst) had definitely identified the missing Electra about 2.30 p.m. or 3 p.m. on Saturday. Search of the bush country in the Ongarue and Waimahi districts had proved fruitless, and it was now established that the ill-fated plane crashed north of that area. It was now surmised that the plane might have gone down in the sea out from Kawhia, said Mr Nash.
