CHALLENGES FOR SHIELD AND CASKET The management committee of the Canterbury Lawn' Tennis Association decided last evening to challenge for the Wilding Shield, Nunneley Casket, and Howe and Slazenger Shields. The following were elected members of the coaching committee, some subject to consent:—Mrs B. Boyd (convenor), Messrs A. R. Cant. R. A. H Howe, M. W. Hawkins V. W. Hammond, B. R. Penfold, and J. K Burtt. Ranking matches will begin on November 9 for men. and on November 11 for women. Messrs R. A. H. Howe arid D. Martin were elected members of the ranking committee. The “Canterbury Tennis Review” committee, consisting of Messrs F. H. G. Johnstone (convenor). R. A. H. Howe, C. Taylor, J. Nunes, S. D. Bannehr. F. Potter, E. Biddle. W. Clothier. R. N. C. Hill, G. E. R. Atkinson, and K. N. McGillivray was confirmed. The “Town and Country Day” was arranged for December 4.
