EDUCATION DEPARTMENT. COMMERCIAL TEACHERS’ TRAINING COURSE AT WELLINGTON TECHNICAL COLLEGE. THE Education Department is continuing at the Wellington Technical College a Training Course for Commercial Teachers, and invites applications for enrolment from persons suitably qualified. For 1949 it is proposed to select 12 trainees. Applicants should already have had some experience in office or commercial work. 1. Those with good experience in Shorthand and Typewriting will be given instruction in Book-keeping and Commercial Practice, and 2. Those with experience in Book-keep-ing or Accountancy will be given instruction in Shorthand and Typewriting. All trainees will be given instruction in teaching method. Male applicants should preferably be between 25 and 30 years of age, and female applicants between 21 ahd 30 years. The period of training will extend over one academic year. During the period, trainees will be paid at the following rates: Men. £325 per annum; women, £295 per annum. In addition, Married Salary of £5O per annum Will be paid to trainees eligible to receive it.
