MR WALLACES CAMPAIGN
COMPLAINT AGAINST POLICE IN GEORGIA
(Rec. 9 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Sept. 22. Mr C. B. Baldwin, campaign manager for Mr Henry Wallace, the Progressive Party, candidate for the United States Presidency, complained to the Justice Department to-day that the police in Atlanta, Georgia, were waging a “terror campaign” against members of the Progressive Party. Mr Baldwin alleged that party members who were seeking signatures for a petition to get Mr Wallace on the State ballot, were being arrested on trumped-up charges, including the charge of blocking the footpath.
