German Flying Bomb
The first German Vl flying bomb to reach New Zealand is in Dunedin at present, and it is expected to arrive at the R.N.ZA.F. station, Wigram, shortly. It will probably be included in the armaments museum at the station. The VI. a jet propelled missile, was used against Britain to a considerable extent. The chief defence against them was the use of fighter aircraft, from which they were either shot down where they would do little damage, or tipped over with a wingtip to “topple” the gyro.
