WIFE WITHDRAWS PETITION
When the hearing of the petition by Margaret Mary Wallace for an order for restitution of conjugal rights against Al'red Baptist Wallace, barman, of Christchurch, was continued in the Supreme Court yesterday, before Mr Justice Fleming, evidence was given by Mrs Wallace. Replying to the allegations of violent conduct, raised by the respondent in opposing the petition, Mrs Wallace said she used violence towards her husband on only two occasions. Each time she acted in selfdefence.
The Court adjourned so that the parties could confer and, when it resumed, Mr D. J. Hewitt, counsel foe, Mrs Wallace, said that the petitioner had decided to withdraw her petition, and the matter had been settled on terms.
