The statue of Mr William Rolleston, on Rolleston avenue, was surmounted yesterday morning with a large paper head* meant to represent the head of a dinosaur. Earlier the head had been for several days fixed on the top of a 70ft tower in the Canterbury University College grounds. Apparently members of one of the university houses decided that the head needed more publicity and placed it on the statue some time on Tuesday night. Small Sum Stolen.— On Monday night the house of Muriel D. Smith, at 18 Fairview street, was broken into and £3 in cash was stolen.
