DEVELOPMENT IN BEXLEY AREA
SEWERAGE AND DRAINAGE DISCUSSED
Sewerage facilities for the Bexley area could not be provided until the Christchurch Drainage Board was able to prepare a comprehensive scheme for further sewer extensions, it was reported to the board last evening. The Bexley area was low lying, and in many parts below the spring tide level, said the report of the works committee. There had been considerable building in the district, but drainage facilities were practically non-ex-istent.
Mr E. F. Scott, engineer to the board, had been instructed to report on the feasibility of leading the drainage of the area to one or two points where it could be pumped over the stop-bank into the Avon river.
