SAVING TO CITY COUNCIL
CHANGE IN EXCHANGE RATE
“It looks as though there will be a saving of about £23.000 over the next five years.” said Cr J. E. Tait, chairman of the finance committee to a meeting of the City Council last evening, when asked by Cr. J. L. Hay how much the council would save as a result of the anoreciation of the New Zealand £. Cr. Hay said he “would like to get in first and suggest that any saving should be used for a Town Hall.” Some of the large loans would be falling due in the next five years. Cr. Tait said.
