Street Improvements.— Authority for the following kerbing and channelling and asphalting has been given by the works committee' of the City Council: Estuary road (Bridge street to Beatty street), £545; Palmer’s road (east side River road to bend), £980; Bishopworth street (near Grange street), £280; Riverlaw terrace (Beckford road to Armstrong avenue), £240 (asphalting only). In the first three cases, the earth channels are in very bad condition because of the flat gratfe and the sullage water being drained into them. Further estimates for the remainder of the allocation of £2OOO for kerbing and channelling and £2500 for asphalt Jiaths will be submitted to the council ater,.
