BOOKMAKER FINED AT GREYMOUTH
From Our Own Reporter GREYMOUTH, August 23. A labourer, Harold Ennor, aged 42, of 42 Ward street, Runanga, was fined £25 when he appeared in the Magistrate's Court at Grevrriouth yesterday, charged with carrying on the business of a bookmaker. He pleaded guilty. Detective-Sergeant N. Thompson said that when arretted accused had material showing that bets on Various race meetings, to the value of £l5 had been taken. Mr E. O. Henry, J.P?. who was associated on the Bench with Mr J. H. North, J.P., warned accused that he was liable to two years’ imprisonment or a fine of £5OO if he came before the Court on a bookmaking charge.
