BLACK KNOCKS TOUHEY OUT (PA.) PALMERSTON NORTH, July 22. In the most exciting professional boxing contest seen in Palmerston North lor many years, Sonny Black (Auckland), 9st, beat Vem Touhey (Palmerston North). Sst 41b, by a knock-out half-way through the last round of a 10-round bout. _ Touhey was unconscious for several -minutes, but was later reported to have recovered satisfactorily. , . At the time of the. knock-out. Touhey must have been slightly ahead on points, having scored consistently with his left. Black is a far more experienced boxer and used the ropes to avoid trouble on many occasions. He dropped Touhey in the tenth round after a series of right followed by a heavy left hook to the jaw.
