TRAFFIC INSPECTORS’ NEW MOTOR CYCLES
Three new motor-cycles, recently received bv the City Council traffic department from England, have proved entirely satisfactory under test. They replace machines in use since 1938. The patrol staff has nine motorcycles and three cars. Questioned yesterday, an officer of the department declined to state the speed they would attain, but remarked with a smile: “They will meet any requirement in this district.” Some off the motor cycles are four-cylinder machines and others, like the new ones, have twincylinders. The officer said that though the vehicles were not in constant use. patrols were made daily to some districts of the city.
