OFFICIAL FORECASTS “The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON, July 20. The weather forecast for Canterbury Issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Situation: depressions are located near North Auckland and off the West Coast of the South Island. Forecast: moderate or fresh north-east winds predominating. Weather cloudy and cool, occasional rain spreading from the north during the day. Further cutlock: showery southerly weather. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Fresh or strong east to north-east wind-.. Weather dull and cool, with intermittent rain, heavy at times. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER After a frost of 5.1 degrees, the weather in Christchurch yesterday was fine but cool (maximum temperature 47.5 degrees). There was little wind. Light rain was falling at midnight and there was a westerly breeze. The temperature was 39.9 degrees. The barometer at 30.08 in (1018.7 millibars), was falling.
