STOCK EXCHANGES WEEK OPENS FAIRLY BRISKLY An increased volume of business was recorded on the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday, largely because of activity in Government loans, which had been dull of sale for the preceding fortnight. Prices of shares dealt in showed little variation: Taupiri Coal gained 3s, with business at 935; and Whakatane Board Mills, which have been in consistent demand for several weeks, showed further improvement to sell at 19s 6d.
