CLASHES IN NORTH (Rec. 12.40 a.m.) LONDON, July 19. “In spite of the new Palestine ’ tmQe, large-scale fighting has continued on nearly all sectors of the northern front/’ says the British United Press correspondent in Tiberias. “Fawzi el Kawakji, the Arab guerrilla commander, defied the cease-fire order and launched strong counter-attacks In the Jenin sector. Syrians under his command drove against Jewish positions on the southern shore of the Sea of Galilee and inflicted casualties. “Earlier, Jewish troops began an offensive against Syrian and Iraqi troops who last night tried to recover lost ground In the Galilee area.”
