OFFICIAL FORECASTS "The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON, July 19. The weather forecast for Canterbury Issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Of3ce, Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Situation: an anti-cyclone is east of New Zealand, and a deep depression over the north Tasman Sea. Forecast: moderate north-east winds. Scattered drizzle about and north of Banks Peninsula to-morrow morning, elsewhere weather fair to fine, apart from areas of morning cloud. Temperatures cold. Further outlook: mainly fair. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Moderate easterlies. Weather fine and cold. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER After a frost of 10.9 degrees, Christchurch had a cold, damp day, with a little sunshine and one heavy shower. There was little wind. The maximum temperature was 44.8 degrees.
