The General Rate thereon necessary to raise the required sum is one and one-naif of a penny (lid) in the £. - PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is the intention of the Kowai County Council at its next ordinary meeting to be held ON FRIDAY, the 9th DAY of JULY, 1948, to make and levy a General Rate of One and One-half of a Penny (lid) in the £ on the Capital Value of all the property appearing upon the Valuation Rolls of the said County; a Special Rate of one-thirtieth of a penny (l/30d) in the £ on the Capital Value of all the Property in the Grays and Tobins Bridge Special Area; a Special Rate of one-thirtieth of a penny (l/30d) in the £ on the Capital Value of all the property in the Plant and Chambers Special Area; a Special Rate of one-half of a penny (id) in the £ on the Capital Value of all the property in the Leithfield Outfall Drain Special Area; also a Sanitation Fee of £2 10s per pan in the Amberley Special Area; and RATES as directed by the North Canterbury Catchment Board on the Capital Value of Lands of that part of the Board’s District as is within the Kowai County. SUCH RATES AND SANITATION FEES to be for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1948, and ending on the 31st day of March. 1949, and shall be due and payable in one sum on the Ist Day of September, 1948, at the County Office, Balcairn, where the Valuation Roll is open for inspection during office hours.
