TIMBER MILL DESTROYED
FIRE IN EARLV HOURS OF MORNING The Batoi sawmill on the Buller Gorge railway, about 15 miles from Westport, was completely destroyed by ffi®, whieb broke out shortly before 'Y,^ifA y 'ls owned by >e Kopara Sawmilling Company, pmplqyed between 15 and 20 meh, and its daily output averaged about 4000 super feet pf timber. Whep the outbreak of fire was discovered it had a good hold and the absence of fire-fighting appliance's made it impossible for nearb.y residents to extinguish the blaze. It is believed that the whqle plant and ma, chinery is a total loss, The amount of the insurances, if apy, were not available at Westport op Saturday.
