ALBION CLUB It was decided to hold opening day on April 3 at the annual meeting of the Albion Rugby Football Club recently. The following officers were electedpatron, Mr H. T. Fuller: president, Mr R. Calder; club captain. Mr G. Papps: honorary secretary, Mr H. W. Otten: treasurer. Mr J. Middleton: committee. Messrs P. Robinson, S. Cooke, E. Jackson. L. Edgington, W. Bodger: delegates to the Canterbury Rugby Union, Messrs Calder, R. Masters. H. Sweeney, and W. Whithami delegate to the Sports Protection Association, Mr J. Middleton; junior advisory board. Mr A. Farming.

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, March 19. The vicissitudes of Rugby finances are evident when figures in the 1947 report and balance-sheet of the Wellington Union are compared with those for the previous year. In 1946 the surplus was £2338, and last year it was £22. The biggest gate at Athletic Park in 1946 was £3313 for the Kiwis-Wellington match; the best last vear was £1556 for the New Zealand trial. '
