CHRISTCHURCH HUNT CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING Because a distemper epidemic had seriously depleted the Christchurch pack of hounds which had been used by the Ashburton branch last season, arrangements had been made for the South Canterbury Club to send their hounds to Ashburton for nine meets this season, reported the master (Mr G. H. Grigg) at the annual meeting of the Christchurch Hunt Club yesterday. For this purpose a grant of £230 had been made to the Ashburton branch, he added.

The club was making an endeavour to build up again after the war, but difficulty was experienced in obtaining houqds, said Mr Grigg.

He was authorised to buy a hound and bitch when he visited England shortly, to be used by the club. in building up the pack.

The financial statement showed a credil balance of £972 10s lid.
