CHILD IMMIGRATION
Sir, —It seems that “Protestant” wishes to exclude children of Catholics, Jews, Mahommedans, atheists, and all non-Protestants from our immigrants. This would cut out the vast majority of the millions of homeless and destitute children in the world. I suppose his reason/is that he wishes to maintain the present proportion of Protestants in the Commonwealth. In that case he must take steps to check the drift from Protestantism and to increase the Protestant and decrease the non-Protestant birth-rate, or both. —Yours, etc., NON-PROTESTANT. March 16, 1948. -
