Social Security.— The following remit from the Canterbury Chamber was carried at the annual conference of the Associated Chambers of Commerce at Dunedin: “That the Government be asked to arrange for a competent non-political investigation of the operation of the Social Security scheme in New Zealand, with particular reference' to costs and to the results of its medical, pharmaceutical, family, and other benefits, and to the question of financing social security without drawing on general taxation.” —(PJU
