TRACK WORK AT RICCARTON

JUMPERS IN ACTION The work at Riccarton yesterday morning was enlivened by some jumping. Three steeplechasers with Easter programmes at Riverton gave an attractive exhibition. They started at the top of the straight, with Open Cast out clear of Roman Son and Night Prince. They ran like this over the double, but there was not much between them as they weht to the board fence, where Night Prince lost his rider. The other two were together over the sod wall, after which Roman-Son was pulled off, leaving Open Cast to jump three more fences by himself, finishing over the double. Night Prince was caught and remounted, to wind up the effort by jumping once round in good style. Trie only; blemish In the whole display was when Night Prince lost his rider. These three horses will leave about the end of this week on thjtir way to Riverton.

W. Barr will race Master Play and Bravura on the fiat .at Oamaru on Saturday, after which he will take them to Riverton, where they have steeplechase engagements at Easter. They are both in good order. Over Hurdles
