♦ —- WORK ON HARPAGON BEGUN AFTER 18 DAYS (PA.) AUCKLAND. March 16. After Waiting since February 27 to [begin discharging her cargo of 9800 itons of Phosphate from Makatea, the [British steamer Harpagon was supplied [With a limited number of waterside workers this morning when the VT’atcrkront Industry Confmission extended 'the list of ships with priority for labour. Workers were also supplied ifor specified work on the coastal motor'vessel Pukeko, and an extra gang was ’called for the food ship Akaroa. ; To-morrow men will be engaged for Ithe Government motor-vessel, Maui ■Pomare. and the freighter Coptic. The Maui Pomare. which this week completed a lengthy refit, will be supplied (with workers to enable her to leave on Friday with urgently needed suniplies for the Cook Islands, where she Swill load the first citrus shipment of the season. Sixty unionists refused to accept engagement on the Mountpark to-day land were placed on penalty, bringing ’the number temporarily barred from wharf employment to 480.
