FIRST AND SECOND ROUNDS PLAYED
The Christchurch Bowling Centre’s champion of champion fours series was commenced on Saturday on the Linwood and Edgeware greens. Results:— Edgeware Green First Round.—Shirley 35, Imperial 12; Linwood 28, Sumner 14; Woolston 23. St. Albans 6; Kaiapoi 19, Barrington 15; Amberley 19, Hornby 17; Elmwood 19, Riccarton Racecourse 18. Opawa and Papanui had byes. Second Round.—Papanui 22, Opawa 19; Shirley 19, Linwood 16; Woolston 21, Kaiapoi 12: Elmwood 24, Amberley 14. Third Round.—Papanui 24, Shirley 15; Elmwood 22, Woolston 20.
Linwood Green First Round.—Sydenham 21, Avon 13; Rakaia 33, Lyttelton 19, Cashmere 17; Beckenham 17, Christchurch 9; Edgeware 17, Canterbury 14; New Brighton 31, Belfast 6. Kaiapoi Working Men’s Club and United had byes.
Second Round.—Rakaia 25, Sydenham 21; Beckenham 21, Lyttelton 14; New Brighton 22. Edgeware 18; Kaiapoi Working Men’s Club 28, United 14.
Third Round.—Beckenham 24, Rakaia 14; New Brighton 20, Kaiapoi W.M.C. 13. The semi-finals and final will be played next Saturday.
