SHOT FIRED INTO HOUSE

(P A.) HASTINGS. March I. Sitting In a room in their home in Hastings, Mr and Mrs Harold Dunlop were alarmed by the discharge of a firearm close to the house. The bullet penetrated a window and narrowly missed one of the occupants. Subsequently a 46-year-old man was arrested by Detective-Sergeant H. E. Campin, and appeared in the Hastings Police Court this morning. The man, whose name was suppressed, was charged with having, by night and with intent to intimidate Harold Dunlop, discharged a .22 rifle, thus alarming Dunlop in his house. In remanding defendant until March 16, the Bench directed that he should be examined by a psychiatrist.
