WOMEN’S BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Manawatu. the North Island’s sole representative in the women's baseball championships, which concluded on Saturdaywon the A grade title for the third successive year. Canterbury won both the B grade and junior competitions. An inter-island game resulted in an easy win for the North, represented by Manawatu. which beat South by 10 runs to 4. Manawatu’s superior combination and clean fielding won the match.
